Care

THE FIRST BURN

To make the most out of your Clint Julep candle, we recommend following general candle best practices. The first time you burn your candle, give yourself at least three hours to ensure that the melt pool extends to every side of the container. Failure to allow a complete melt pool will cause tunneling, resulting in leftover wax on the sides of the container. Leftover wax = wasted wax.

SUBSEQUENT BURNS

We recommend burning your candle long enough that a full melt pool is reached every time. This will allow the longest candle life and cleanest burn, which is what we strive for in every Clint Julep candle.

TRIMMING THE WICK

Before every burn, we recommend trimming your wick to 1/4". A wick that is not regularly trimmed can result in a flame that is too large, a melt pool that is too deep, mushrooming of the wick, and excess sooting. Gross.

STORAGE

Storing your Clint Julep candle away from windows and other ultraviolet lighting is recommended. Soy candles can turn yellow when exposed to direct sunlight. While this does not affect the scent or burn of your candle, it does create undesired cosmetic effects.
